Recipe of the Week: Muesli

Get over the turkey bloat you’re sure to feel the day after Thanksgiving with a healthy breakfast that’s easy to prepare.


No point fighting it.

You will consume more calories than the human body is meant to handle tomorrow. Then you’re going to have to have at least one slice of each of the three pumpkin pies your relatives brought just to make sure feelings aren’t hurt.

Not much you can do about Thanksgiving, but why not get off to a healthy start the day after?

  • 4 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup wheat bran
  • 1/2 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds


  1. In a large mixing bowl combine oats, wheat germ, wheat bran, oat bran, dried fruit, nuts, sugar, and seeds. Mix well. Store muesli in an airtight container. It keeps for 2 months at room temperature.
