A scary start to a Sunday that held in store my son Nikko’s third birthday celebration. The rain was beating down on my roof the night before as my wife and family were preparing the food for our grand event.
As I went about my morning work, I was actually conducting a birthday celebration class for one of our students. The day was see-sawing between rain and the promise of sunshine. But as it would happen, we were blessed with a beautiful, mild Foster City afternoon. I quickly left work and headed to for the upper picnic grove. It is a new location that the city allows children jumpers in. My son just loves jumpers.
So the grills were fired up, the food charbroiled and the children tossed and turned on the Cars-themed jumper. As I stood on top the grove looking out over the lagoon, I was reminded of why we decided to plant our roots here. Family, fun, friends, and safety. Family Matters.
