Peninsula Patch Launches YouTube Channel

Share news videos you shoot on your cell phone camera with us.

The Peninsula Patch team announced the release of a You Tube channel today that will be dedicated to showing off breaking news videos.

It will be primarily a way for you to share videos of things that have inspired you to bust out your cell phone camera.

Driving down El Camino Real and witness an accident? See someone looting a store on Black Friday? Whip out your cell phone and shoot video of it.

You know you've got the urge. Indulge yourself. Then share it with us.

It's super easy. Just email it to videopatch@gmail.com with a few details in the subject line.  ie Time, Date, and Location. Include your name if you want credit for the clip when it gets published on Patch. Our local video editor will take it from there.

We're looking for breaking news videos of things that are going to make people want to know more. So send us your clips!

The Peninsula Patch You Tube Video channel is a fine idea, but I'm disappointed to note that the first demo video requires Flash, which makes it incompatible with the worlds best selling tablet, the iPad.

Thanks for the feedback, Ken. Sorry to hear about the complications. But, check it out: YouTube is experimenting with HTML5 as an alternative.<http://www.youtube.com/html5> Have you opted in to that? And if so, would you share your thoughts about the experience with me? Reply here, or email me directly at vanessa@patch.com.
