What is the Foster City Village?
Come to an
informational meeting on Thursday, April
26 at 5:30 at the Foster City Council Chambers to hear more about this
exciting national trend. A Village is a
grassroots, non-profit organization that provides a variety of services that
enable older adults to confidently remain in their homes and
“age-in-place”. Services can vary but
typically include transportation, help with household tasks, access to vetted
discounted vendors as well as social and educational activities.
Volunteers
and members are needed to make this concept a reality.
Learn about
the progress made to date with the Foster City Village and opportunities to get
involved. A brief video about the first
Village – “Beacon Hill Village” – in Boston will be shown. Please join us to learn more about creating
a real social network here in Foster City.
