All Clear After Suspicious Package Found at SFO

The security checkpoint at Terminal 1 has been closed

The all-clear signal has been given by a bomb squad that investigated a suspicious package reported at a San Francisco International Airport security checkpoint today, an airport spokesman said.

The all-clear was given around 1:20 p.m. following the report of the suspicious package, which shut down Boarding Area C in Terminal 1 of the airport at about 11:30 a.m., spokesman Mike McCarron said.

One person has been interviewed in connection with the package, but McCarron said he did not know if they were in custody.

He said more information was not yet available, but that airport officials are holding a news conference at 2 p.m. today to discuss the incident.
