Train Kills Pedestrian in San Bruno

Person struck and killed by freight train. Caltrain service delayed in both directions.

[UPDATED: 8:55pm] All trains are now being single-tracked on the northbound tracks near the scene of the fatality, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.

All passengers are being asked to board from the northbound platforms at the San Bruno and South San Francisco stations, said spokeswoman Christine Dunn.

  • Northbound train No. 191 is seven minutes late
  • Southbound train No. 192 is on time and arriving at the Bayshore station

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a southbound Union Pacific freight train around 7:40 p.m. today near San Mateo and Huntington avenues.

Caltrain passengers should expect delays in both directions until at least 8:30 p.m. while officials investigate. Caltrain's northbound train No. 285 was stopped at Sylvan Avenue while its southbound train was being held in San Francisco.
