Services for Mike Nevin to Be Held Thursday and Friday

The former San Mateo County Supervisor died of cancer on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Community members and local officials have been mourning the death of Mike Nevin, who passed away from cancer this past Saturday, all week.

Nevin served for many years on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, as well as several other public service roles including mayor and city councilman of Daly City, San Francisco police inspector, and many more.

Most recently, Nevin had served as the executive director of the countywide Service League, headquartered in Redwood City.

"San Mateo County lost a true leader when former Supervisor Michael Nevin passed away on Saturday," said San Mateo County spokesperson Marshall Wilson.

Wilson announced Tuesday that two different services will be held for Nevin this Thursday and Friday.

A rosary and vigil service will be held this Thursday, Dec. 6th, at 7 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church, 850 Judah St., San Francisco. Guests are asked to arrive early.

Nevin's funeral will be held this Friday, Dec. 7th at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 650 Parker Ave., San Francisco. The church is located on the University of San Francisco campus. Parking will be difficult so people are encouraged to carpool and to arrive early.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Service League, 727 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063.
