Why Go: Education Day is a Maker Faire field trip preview tour for grades K-12. Inspire students at Young Makers Day, a unique preview of Maker Faire Bay Area.

On Friday, students get a sneak peek at some of the exhibits and workshops as Maker Faire is being set up for the weekend. Young makers meet and interact with selected makers, participate in activities and get a glimpse of the set-up process for this large-scale event.

Why Go: Washington School will turn up the volume at its 2nd annual Art & Music (WAMJAM) Festival on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring Movin' Radio 99.7 FM broadcasting live.

Why Go: Shop for organic and fresh produce from local farmers who bring a fresh selection of fruits and vegetables each and every week.

 WILD FARM GARDEN TOUR AND COOKING CLASS

Where/When: 222 E. Fourth Ave. San Mateo on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Join this opportunity to visit a local, family-owned, private farm in Woodside to learn about vegetable gardening and sustainable gardening practices. Enjoy a one-hour garden tour, and then travel to Draeger's Cooking School at San Mateo for a hands-on cooking class featuring produce from the garden. Registered students will receive detailed location information via e-mail the week prior to the class. Students are responsible for their own transportation to the farm and to Draeger's Cooking School.
