San Mateo County residents can help a child in need this holiday season by stopping by today to donate a gift for the "Transit Toy Drive" being held by Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transit District.
New, unwrapped toys and books can be dropped off at SamTrans headquarters from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos.
Cookies and hot chocolate will be served to everyone who stops by to make a donation.
The toys will go to the Salvation Army and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots Program, according to transit officials.
