San Mateo Man Wins $1 Million in Facebook Contest

A 22-year-old San Mateo college student won $1 million for "liking" Chase Freedom on Facebook.

Imagine clicking "like" on a Facebook page and winning $1 million.

It may seem impossible, but for one San Mateo college student, that dream became a reality on Wednesday morning.

Steven Haryono, a 22-year-old San Jose State University student, became the first person in the world to win $1 million by simply "liking" the Chase Freedom Facebook page in its "Get Your Cash Back Sweepstakes," spokesman Eddie Moye said.

The sweepstakes was live on the Chase Freedom Facebook page for four weeks, and allowed fans to enter once a day for a chance to win the $1 million grand prize, or one of the hourly $500 prizes given out between Oct. 3 and Oct. 23.

In addition to Haryono's grand prize, 504 people each received the $500 prizes, according to Moye.
