Katy Perry Joins EA's The Sims Family

The star brings candy and song to the newest release from Electronic Arts. Are you a Sims player?

Beginning in June, gamers will be able to experience the world of Katy Perry in a new Sims release.

In The Sims 3 Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats, players can enhance their Sims' lives with items inspired by the singer, songwriter and actress.

Players will be able to turn the homes and neighborhoods of their Sims into a so-called Candyfornia that will feature cupcake-themed guitars, candy playground equipment and cotton candy trees.

With their Sims decking new clothing and hairstyles inspired by Ms. Perry, players will be able to make their Sims look like an edible item. There will be three pre-built venues in the game.

Redwood City's Electronic Arts says the game will feature Perry-inspired items such as  décor, furniture, objects and fashions and hairstyles.

“I’m delighted to bring you more with The Sims 3 Sweet Treats," said Perry. "I love some of the accessories so much that I am going to get some of them made in real life! It's one of my small life goals to sit on a banana split couch."

To further enhance the game experience, players will be serenaded by a Simlish version of Katy Perry’s hit song, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F),’ which she recorded just for the game. Simlish is the official language of The Sims.

In the game, players will be able to engage their Sims characters with an array of colorful items that will turn their surroundings into what the company is calling "candytopias." You'll see banana split sofas, fountains made of candy, and a waffle cone picnic table.

Sugar-coated fashions and hairstyles sweeten the game. The fashions are from Ms. Perry’s red carpet appearances, music videos and concert performances, which have been recreated for The Sims game.

Among the venues found in the new release; Players can take their Sims for a dip in Patty’s Natural Baths complete with bubble gum pink lounge chairs and a licorice-themed slippy slide. They can check out Bonbon Lawn Park, where they’ll find candy playground equipment. And players can take their Sims to the Cake Pleasure Dome, the town’s local hangout, where more tasty sweet treats are found.
