Recipe of the Week: Guacamole

Running low on ideas for hump day dinner? Patch has your back with a new recipe of the week every Wednesday.

With the beautiful weather we've had in Foster City for the past week, it feels like spring has finally sprung. Cool off with this refreshing, classic dip that uses my mom's secret ingredient -- worcestershire sauce. I know worcestershire isn't commonly used in guacamole, but it gives it an added kick.

Guacamole Ingredients
  • 3 avocados
  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • Juice of two limes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Dash of hot sauce (I like Tabasco)
  • Dash of worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • Sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Mash avocados with fork.
  2. Stir in red onion, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, hot sauce and worcestershire sauce.
  3. Fold in sour cream and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
