Foster City Summer Concert Series Kicks off Friday

The summer of fun in Foster City keeps going, as the City's annual Summer Concert Series in Leo Ryan Park kicks off this Friday.

 

Summer is in full swing, and after a great and amazing , it's time for the next item on Foster City's summer of fun calendar - the Summer Concert Series, which kicks off with its first show this Friday night.

The concerts will take place every Friday night through Aug. 17 at , at the corner of E. Hillsdale and Shell boulevards, from 6-8 p.m.

Kicking off the first concert of the season will be the Bay Area cover band Pop Fiction. The band plays popular dance hits from the past several decades, "from Donna Summer to Journey to Lada Gaga, and everything in between," according to the band's website.

 

2012 Summer Concert Series Lineup:

July 13 - Pop Fiction (pop hits)

July 20 - The Refugees (Tom Petty tribute band)

July 27 - Magic Moments ('50s rock and roll)

Aug. 3 - Tinman (classic rock)

Aug. 10 - The Hitmen (disco/funk)

Aug. 17 - Because (Beatles tribute band)

 

Sponsors of this year's concert series include , , the Foster City Rotary Club, Danford Foundation, MJ Murphy CPA Office, Tom and Carol Torgerson, Patti Styka for Electra Craft Boat Sales, and Chris and Jim Freshour.
