Who's Who in Foster City: Shilpi Goel

Shilpi Goel enjoys helping area residents feel beautiful as a cosmetologist. Goel pampers people with facials, eyebrow threading and henna body artwork.

So Shilpi, why do you enjoy your job?

I love helping people and I feel like I'm good at it.

What do you love most about living in Foster City?

It's very pretty, with its beautiful lakes and parks.  Most people are friendly and I love how it's a happy little city.  Also, having my business here.  I don't think I could see myself living in any other city.  At the end of the day, I can go for a walk and the lakes are beautiful.

What is one of your best Foster City memories?

Catamaran Park.  The first time I went there, I could see the water and the mountains and everything.  I would say that was one of the best times of my life.

What is one of your favorite parks?

Catamaran Park

Do you like to watch TV?

When I get the time (laughs).  I mainly watch news.

If there is anything in Foster City that you could change, what would it be?

We should have a high school here.  The second thing is that we should have more flexibility for opening businesses and shopping complexes here.  We should also have a downtown.

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you?

I think I do work that is totally different from other people in Foster City.
