There are a variety of adorable dogs  to see from Poodles to Bichon Frieses. Pharmaceutical Take-Back Day

10:00 am; San Carlos Library, 610 Elm St, San Carlos

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Dept. and San Carlos Green are holding a Pharmaceutical Take-Back Day.  Clean out your medicine cabinet of all unwanted pills.  Dump your pills in a zip lock bag and bring them to the San Carlos Library Parking Lot on Saturday, April 27th from 10-2.  A member of the sheriff's department will be there to accept controlled substances.  Please recycle your pill containers in your blue bin at home.  Any questions, contact Pat Potter at pat@sancarlosgreen.org.

Strength Through Peace: Developing a Nonviolent Global Community

9:30 am; Congregational Church of San Mateo United Church of Christ, 225 Tilton Ave, San Mateo

FREE; This has been a four-week study on the ethics of nonviolence, exploring Jesus’ ministry of peace, the idea of “Active Love,” the role of faith, and the place of reconciliation. In the final week of study, we will be focusing on Mark 9:50, as well as materials from the United Church of Christ’s Mission 4/1 Earth. How do we practice nonviolence toward all of creation? What does it mean to be “salt of the earth” people in a global context?
