Pets of the Week: Dizzy, Dave and Kiwi

Check out one of the pets available for adoption from the Peninsula Humane Society

Looking to start the new year with a special little guy(s)? Then look no further! We are currently housing 3 Cherry head conures. These little guys have a few special requirements as they have been through so much in the past couple months. “Dizzy” and “Daze” were transfered from another shelter and are a bit under socialized, but “Kiwi” came to us as a stray in really bad shape with several broken bones, emaciated and lethargic. Now he is all healed, extremely active and vocal, as are “Dizzy” and “Daze”. Now the special part is that none of these birds can fly very well, if at all. They need a savvy bird owner and should not go to a home with cats or dogs. For more information on these conures, please contact PHS/SPCA’s Exotic Department 650/340.7022 ext x354. To visit Dizzy, Dave and Kiwi, go to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. The shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Friday, 11 am to 7 pm; and weekends from 11 am to 6 pm and is located at 12 Airport Blvd., San Mateo next to Coyote Point Park. For directions and information, call 650-340-7022 or visit www.PHS-SPCA.org
