Why Go: The City of Foster City, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Peninsula Jewish Community Center offer family swim night every Friday at PJCC.  Foster City residents are invited to visit the PJCC to enjoy an evening of swimming and open-play basketball.

Why Go: The 7th Annual Redwood City Poker Run motorcycle ride is a exciting fundraiser benefitting the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League, Redwood City Police Activities League, and Redwood City After School Sports. This year’s Poker Run will be held on Saturday starting at Dudley Perkins (333 Corey Way, South San Francisco.) Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the ride starting at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Just Between Friends is a brand new children's and maternity consignment event coming to the San Mateo Expo Center this weekend.

Where/When: Noon on Saturday, , 60 31st Ave, San Mateo

Why Go: Locals are invited to enjoy a special sneak preview of the 6th Annual Maker Faire Bay Area, the world’s largest do-it-yourself festival, at Hillsdale Shopping Center. This free event will fill the shopping center with makers and their creations, inventions, art, tech wonders and more. Maker Faire Bay Area will take place May 21 and May 22, at the San Mateo Expo Center. This two-day, family-friendly event will feature hands-on crafts and inventions, music, food, entertainment and more.

Where/When: 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday, , 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd, San Mateo

Why Go: Shop for organic and fresh produce from some local farmers who bring a fresh selection of fruits and vegetables each and every week.

Where/When:  11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Saturday, 480 San Anselmo Ave N, San Bruno (on the corner Sylvan & Mastick)

Why Go: The silent auction will feature vintage costume jewelry as well as other quality objects.  Also available will be crafts handmade by the Women's Guild.

Pricing: $7-$10

 

Where/When: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Sunday, 850 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame

Why Go: Help your community! Proceeds will help raise funds for the BCE (Burlingame Community Education Foundation), Family Connections, For Kids! (San Mateo - Foster City Education Foundation), and Room to Read.

Pricing: $3-$5

 

Where/When: 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Saturday, , 2385 Trousdale Dr, Burlingame

Why Go: The Franklin Carnival will feature carnival rides, games, food, live music and a silent auction. The event will be fun for families with children up to age 12.

Where/When: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Sunday, , Primrose, Burlingame

Why Go: The 4th annual Burlingame Green Street Fair is a free event that celebrates sustainable lifestyle choices.  The fair is great fun for the entire family. It includes local entertainment and brings together green vendors, nonprofit organizations, children’s groups, builders and designers to demonstrate creative ways to become more energy efficient and live sustainably.
