Foster City Patch Reader Helps Reunite Family with Lost Bird

However, the other bird in the pair is still missing - so this family hopes Foster City Patch readers can help make their reunion fully complete by helping to locate its companion.

Tuesday night, one Foster City Patch reader helped make a local family very happy by reuniting them with Smokey, one of their two lost birds.

The reader, "Jen," , in which we asked readers to help keep an eye out for this family's two pet cockatiels, Smokey and Sunshine.

Jen's comment indicated she had found a bird she believed might be one of the family's lost birds, and left her contact information.

Happily, the bird was, indeed, Smokey.

The family is overjoyed, and thankful to Jen and all the Foster City Patch readers who read the article.

"Oh my gosh, I could cry right now!" said Lynda, the mother of the two young girls who have been missing their birds dearly.

"Now, we will just keep looking for Sunshine," she added. "We WILL find her."

The birds went lost this past Friday evening, July 27.

The birds were in the living room when they became spooked by a loud noise on the TV and flew out the garage door, the family said.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen Sunshine is asked to call Lynda at 510-501-0866. The family lives on Crane Avenue in Foster City.
