Community Gearing Up for Bike Ride

Sponsors of the annual event provide for all ages and stages, from a tricycle path to an 11-mile course.

The annual Foster City Community Bike Ride rolls out Sunday, and includes families, individuals, and tots ready to embark on a 2.5 mile ride or go the full 11-mile distance.

The ride begins at Boothbay Park and continues down the levy along the San Francisco Bay.

Registration for the event is free and begins at 10:00am at Boothbay Park, located at Boothbay Avenue and Edgewater Boulevard.  Water, snacks, and frozen yogurt will be available before and after the ride.

For the fifth year, a tricycle ride for tots will be part of the event.  Young children can pedal their tricycles along a path around Boothbay Park starting at 11 a.m.

The ride's sponsors ask all cyclists to inflate their tires and give their bikes a once-over, tuning up as needed. Children under 18 are required to wear a helmet, but all participants are strongly encouraged to do so.
