USA Team Chooses Foster City Local as Head
The USA Taekwondo and USOC have chosen Herb Perez, the CEO of Gold Medal Martial Arts to lead their Team to as they attempt to qualify for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games. “Grandmaster Perez was our first and only choice. He has the experience, knowledge, and passion to help these children achieve their Olympic dreams.’ explained Head Coach Juan Moreno. “His work around the world and the United States has yielded tremendous results.”
Gold Medal CEO Herb Perez serves as the International Projects Director. Perez is a winner of the coveted USOC Steinbrenner Award for his work in Afghanistan to rebuild their sport programming. “We have continued our initiative to build sport training programs that can reach the masses. We are excited to support the program because of Taekwondo’s ability to reach the masses through a sport for all components. Our young athletes here in USA are an excellent example of the value of a well developed program that fosters community and sportsmanship. It is my pleasure to lend support to this laudable effort” added Grandmaster Perez, 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist.
Perez will lead the USA Team in Baku, Azerbaijan in July 2011 as it attempt to qualify its athletes for 4 Olympic berths. “Our athletes are well trained and we have prepared them for international success. We are optimistic about our qualifications.”
