New Cafe Coming to Beach Park Plaza

Permits have been approved for a combination coffee shop and restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, and occasional live entertainment.

Foster City's Beach Park Plaza will soon be home to a new business - the See U cafe and restaurant.

The Foster City Planning Commission has approved applications and permits for See U to operate as both a coffee shop/cafe and full-scale restaurant, with amplified music and the occasional karaoke night.

Because Beach Park Plaza is surrounded by so many homes, the Planning Commission opted to limit See U's amplified music permit to the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., though the owners plan to be open until midnight on weekends.

See U will have approximately 14 tables of four inside the restaurant, and four tables in the outdoor seating area. The restaurant will serve coffee, food, beer and wine.

The owners of See U say the establishment will also be available for private events, both corporate and social.

There is no word yet on when See U will open, but it is expected to be soon.

Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
